Description

HTC Vive has just unveiled its latest virtual reality device that focuses on relaxation and wellness.

Unlike bulkier gaming headsets like the Vive Pro 2, the Vive Flow is a lighter pair of glasses designed for meditation, entertainment and work wherever you are. The glasses connect to your Android phone to stream movies and TV shows, and access the immersive Viveport app store experience using your phone as a controller. You can even meet friends and family in virtual environments with Vive Sync.

The Flow glasses are lightweight at 189g and feature a dual-hinge design that folds down to remain portable. There's also a cooling system that draws air away from your face, and built-in diopter dials that can be adjusted for a sharper image.

Flow offers 100 degree field of video with 3.2k resolution and 75Hz refresh rate. The glasses also take advantage of 3D spatial sound and can also be connected to external Bluetooth headphones. HTC Vive also released a matching carry case and 10,000mAh power supply (both sold separately) to keep the glasses charged on the go. The company also announced a new Viveport subscription plan. The plan offers unlimited access to a range of wellness, brain training, productivity and light gaming apps, as well as an exclusive cafe-like Lo-Fi virtual room for just $ 6 a month.

HTC Vive Flow is available for pre-order for $ 499. Pre-orders include the official Vive Flow carrying case and seven content items. The official release is scheduled for November 2021.
